History

So recently m y mom, dad, Josh & I went on a trip to Mesquite for a National Wild Turkey Retreat. For those of you that don't know that is a Wildlife Charity that we are heavily involved with. While we were their we took a little side trip to Las Vegas to see my Great Great Aunt Mavis. It always so good to visit her because she is so full of history. She was married to my Great Great Uncle Roland. He and my Great Great Uncle Leslie Davis (yes I am named after a boy) were quite the little business men. They started the first bus line in Salt Lake, they homesteaded Alpine Wy., and they opened the army surplus store known as "Allied" (Yes that is were the fence company came from.) Also he helped to homestead parts of Las Vegas. The army gave a set amount of land to soldiers as long as they built a home on it. Well he got the bright idea to ask his fellow army buddies to give him part of their land in exchange he would go down to L.V. and set it all up. So attached are some of the pic. I took while I was their. The first is the street that Les cut himself and named.
This is the park that is named after him it is right done the street from the old house.
Sorry for the history Lesson. I just love looking in to the past and the stories our elders.

My New Ride!

OK so about 6 months ago I really got in to this hole "going GREEN" thing. So I have been better about recycling, using my reusable grocery bags, replacing my burnt out bulbs with energy star light bulbs and being really cautious about the temp in my house (in case you were wondering 70 in the winter and 75 in the summer). But I have also been looking in to buying a new car. After looking and doing my research I found the one I want. I am going to be getting the new Smart Car. It will be a red convertible with tan interior.

Unfortunately in order to get one I have to put $99 down and then wait 18 months before I can get one. So I now only have a year left. Yeah! I just wanted to share this with you. So here are some tricked out Smart Cars.

Oh yeah the last one is a car in a vending machine!

Rough Times

Well they say all bad things come in threes. Well that isn't exactly true for Josh and I. It all started in August when Josh lost his job. Then in September I was moved to a new store and business has been very slow especially with how the economy has been. Then of course right before the first big snow storm our garage door broke and it will be $150 to fix it. So we decided to wait till business picks up and I will park out side. During the middle of October we bought a new couch. When we got it home we noticed a big crack in the base. So we took it back and got a new one. Well two weeks after that Josh sat down and the hole bottom of the new couch just popped right off. Then the first week in November my cell phone (aka my life line) screen died and I could not receive my oh so important text messages. Then our dishwasher started to back up.

They also say that every cloud has a silver lining. This is true. After loosing his job he was able to start really looking in to what he wants out of life. The new store is picking up and I am going to be doing a presentation for a mom's group at the end of the month that will bring in a lot of new business for the holidays. Josh, being the great guy he is, when the first snow storm hit he got out of bed when I was still in the shower and cleaned off my car so I didn't have to. We are taking the couch back and we found a better one for less money. My cell phone company sent me a brand new cell phone free of charge. And last but not least, after my impromptu pluming I had to do at my my moms house a little wile ago, I am an expert on taking apart all the pipes under a sink and cleaning them out.

Morel of my tale is that no matter how bad it gets their is always another way to look at it.
